My formal art training began at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, where for three years I studied in the School of Art, and for the first time came into contact with the practice and process of printing. There I specialised in lithography, etching and woodcut under the tuition of master lithographer Paul Croft, and left university with a degree and the confidence and enthusiasm to continue my work in the Edinburgh Print Workshop, Scotland. Leaving behind the restrictions of a modular university system I have found myself eager to try out new materials, and to be more inventive in the way I work. As a result you may find my pieces vary a lot from one medium to next…Give me a few years to develop my own distinctive style – until then I am going to make the most of my freedom to experiment!
